Agile Project Management – Sneak Peak – Chapter 4

Product Backlog – it is the single resource, which contains all the features and requirements for the deliverables related with the product goal.

Product backlog is regularly updated, it is not a fixed resource.

Each item within a product backlog must have : a description, an order ( reflecting it’s priority), a value and an approximate estimation time for its completion.

Stories: Each story is like a requirement from the user, which can be handled independently in an acceptable amount of time and tested for acceptance.

Epic: an epic is a collection of stories for that product goal.

Sprint : A sprint is an iteration, which delivers something of value to the customer. It is like a mini project, following all the processes until the delivery.

Sprint Planning: it is the phase where important decisions are made like: deciding which items to pick up from the product backlog for the sprint, who all are available from the team to work on the sprint, acceptance criteria and few other things.

Retrospective: it is the phase after the sprint completion where team openly discusses the achievements, the issues, the lessons learnt etc.
